Harlan Hubbard and Genghis Khan.... one, a twentieth century artist, pacifist, free spirit who floated the Mississippi river and eventually homesteaded on the banks of the Ohio. The other, a 12th century Mongol warrior king who through his conquests changed the face of the world. Strange as it may seem......these “off the grid” nomads and pastoralists, became immediate friends when they first met under the “big blue sky” and wide open plains of Heinz Brummel’s imagination. Morphing into “Harlan Khan”, they meld their skills and sensibilities to build these “crown jewel” trellis tents known as Gers....or Yurts. Time to haul water and chop wood, folks.......
